Speaking to around 500 invited guests at the Maui Dharma Center,  colorful prayer flags blew in the wind above the audience.  An occasional brief showers passed, but the crowd stayed to hear the words of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning spiritual icon and exiled leader of the nation of Tibet. 

Construction of the Peace Stupa began in April 2005 and through the generosity, hard work and efforts of the community, the Peace Stupa became a reality. 

Inside the Great Peace Stupa, the walls are adorned with beautiful paintings.

The interior structure of the Stupa is as unique and fascinating as the outside.  Inside, there are various sections in the center of the Stupa which allow for the offerings of sacred and precious items.
